What follows is a brief outline of the major events in a typical capital project.

1. Project Approval
a. Capital Project Council (CPC)
i. CPC-1 PDF or Microsoft Word format
ii. CPC-2 PDF or Microsoft Word format

2. Selection of Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firm
a. For projects less than $500,000, A/E firm is selected by OUA.
b. For projects greater than $500,000, A/E firm is recommended by OUA and approved by the Board of Trustees.

3. Design Process
a. Academic Program

b. Master Site Planning
i. Ensure Conformity With University Campus Master Plan
c. Schematic Process

All during the process, the Project Manager will be the liaison among the Client, Physical Facilities, A/E firms, and Contractors regarding the project's scope, schedule and budget. Communications between all project team members will be directed through the Project Manager.
