  • Construction phase:
    May 22 to September 19, 2006
Lambert Hall

Milestones:

  • May 23: Lambert's power feed was converted to the mobile substation and the vault was shut down.
  • May 29: An underground electrical ductbank was installed in the area from manhole 24 (see photo) to the curb on the east side of University Ave.
  • Signs are posted to limit parking on S. University Ave.
  • As of June 13:
    • Electrical equipment has been removed from the vault.
    • The existing vault top has been removed. (See photo below)
  • June 27: Crews are forming the new vault top, which will be poured when the rebar is received. Installation of aluminum conduit in the tunnel has begun.
  • July 25: The vault top has been poured (see photo below), and the airvent relocated. It should be poured this week. Conduit has been run in the tunnel from the junction box to the vault. The next step will be installing the new transformers in the vault.
  • August 8: The airways were poured, the mechanical piping is complete, and the new transformers have been set in the vault. Backfilling around the vault has begun, and site restoration will be completed shortly. This will limit the remaining work to inside the vault. See photos.
  • Sept 11: An electrical shutdown is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 20, to disconnect the mobile substations and activate the new electrical equipment in the vault. The shutdown will begin at 9 p.m. and is expected to last 3-4 hours. See before and after pictures of the vault below.
