Schedule:

  • Bid date: August 31, 2006
  • Board of Trustees meeting: September 29, 2006
  • Construction phase: First week of October to January 12, 2007.

 

Milestones:

  • This summer, new ductbank was installed in preparation for the vault upgrade. Learn more about this important project.
  • October 20: The electrical service will be shutdown for approximately 2-3 hours beginning at 8 p.m. to connect ELLT to the mobile substations.
  • November 7: Demolition of the vault is nearly complete. Within the next two weeks, the concrete slab will be poured, exterior walls formed, and new electrical equipment installed. See photos below.
  • December 5:  Backfilling around the vault is nearly complete. The duct bank has been poured. In coming weeks, the new vault deck will be poured and repairs to the existing deck will be made. Electrical work within the vault is proceeding on schedule. As of today, an on-time completion is anticipated.
  • December 19: Sidewalk repairs are complete. See photos below. The concrete deck has been repaired, and the vault walls have been waterproofed. The interior entrance door to the electrical room will be replaced with a new door that meets accessibility codes. The vault is being backfilled. Electrical equipment is expected to be in place within the next two weeks.

    Shutdown: The final electrical shutdown is scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 6 p.m. This will enable crews to switch Elliott's electrical system from the mobile substations to the new transformers powered by the 12.47 kV supply. COMPLETE.
  • January 12: This project has reached substantial completion.

The section of sidewalk that was dug up will not be replaced in time for the Christmas Show. The area will remain fenced to protect pedestrians.

 


Pedestrians will be directed off the existing sidewalk and into the parking area of the road to get around the construction site.
