Milestones:
- In preparation for the vault upgrade, a new ductbank was installed this summer. Learn more about this important project.
- September 26: The mobile substations will be set in place this week (see location below.) Fencing will be installed around the mobile substations, and the contractor will be on site beginning next week.
- October 9: An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for 5 p.m. to connect the mobile substations. The shutdown will last for approximately 3-4 hours.
- November 7: An HVAC unit has been relocated to make room for construction. Demolition has begun on the vault and existing equipment has been removed. The vault top has been saw-cut and removed. See photos below.
- December 5: New equipment pads were poured this week, and the vault floor is expected to be poured as well. The transformers can be installed in the coming weeks, and electrical work within the vault continues. The vault top is expected to be poured in the next two weeks. See photos below.
- December 19: The new vault top has been poured. See photos below. The area around the vault has been backfilled, and in coming weeks the concrete and site work will be completed. The electrical conduits and junction boxes have been installed. The new switchboards will be delivered in early January, and after they are installed, the final electrical shutdown will be scheduled.
- Shutdown: The final electrical shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2007 beginning at 6 a.m. This will enable crews to switch the electrical system from the mobile substations to the new transformers powered by the 12.47 kV supply. COMPLETE.
- January 12: This project has reached substantial completion.
