Creating Content-Rich Intruction for the 90-Minute Block

The 2013 Summer Institute is hosted by the James F. Ackerman Center for Democratic Citizenship and the Center for Literacy Education and Research (CLEAR). The institute is titled “Creating Content-Rich Instruction for the 90 - Minute Reading Block.” This institute provides an excellent opportunity to learn how to implement the 90 - Minute Reading Block while integrating social studies content. This professional development experience culminates in participants planning units to be used during the 90 - Minute Reading Block built around social studies themes and includes sets of high children’s literature to be used in guided reading and interactive read aloud formats.
