General Economics Summer Workshop

K-12 Grade Teachers: The Purdue Center for Economic Education and the Indiana Council for Economic Education will be hosting "General Economics" summer workshop on June 11 through June 21, 2013 at Purdue University. Register now for Economics 519 and earn three hours of graduate credit in Economics. Instruction will be provided on economic concepts, current economic issues, and a broad overview of instructional methods, materials, and simulations that can be used to present these concepts to students. Participants will use some current games and simulations to increase their own levels of economic understanding, and will also examine available films, software, and other economic education materials. No formal background in economics is assumed of participants, and no one should refrain from applying because they fear that the material covered in the workshop will be too difficult. A $50 registration fee and application are due by May 22. Registration is limited to first 40 applicants.
