Please join us for Purdue's Parent/Family Orientation Programs!

This year, we are pleased to offer multiple programs to help you support your incoming Purdue student/s. They are:

Day on Campus Parent Program

"Parents and Family Members: Partners in Student Success"
10:30 AM, Class of '50 lecture hall

Parents and family members who attend the session will have the opportunity to meet other new parents and will participate in discussions surrounding both parent and student transition issues. A brief overview of the session is as follows:

  • Welcome by University staff
  • Presentation and discussion of general transition issues
  • Current student question and answer panel

Boiler Gold Rush Parent Program

For your convenience, there are two identical sessions offered.

  • Saturday, August 11, 3:30 PM, Elliott Hall of Music
  • Sunday, August 12, 3:30 PM, Elliott Hall of Music

*August 11 and 12 are move-in days for Boiler Gold Rush (BGR).
BGR staff members will be available in each residence hall to escort you to these sessions.

This is your chance to:

  • Learn more about what you should expect in the next few months as your relationship with your student changes and evolves.
  • Ask questions of an expert panel representing various departments from across campus.
  • Find out what campus resources are available to you and your student.
  • Feel better about your student's transition to Purdue and your transition to being part of the Purdue family!

Panelists at the 2006 Parent/Family Session included:
The Office of the Dean of Students
The Center for Career Opportunities
The Division of Financial Aid
University Residences
The Bursar's Office
Academic Advising and Resources
