What must I do before classes begin next semester?
Things You Must Do:
Activate your Purdue career account and set up your Purdue email address via the Internet. The Purdue Help Desk has directions. Then go to Purdue Web Mail and send us a message (our address is usp@purdue.edu). You will also want to find out your PUID (Purdue Identifier), a ten-digit identification number that you'll use for lots of different things while at Purdue.
Take a Math Placement Test. You will need to have your career account set up in order to do this (see above for more information). If you have taken math in college we will use that information to place you into math at Purdue and you don't need to take the Math Placement Tests.
Complete the Pre-Registration Information for Day on Campus Survey online. You will need your Math Placement Test result to do this. (Note: please ignore the reference to Fall Semester and the June 1st deadline on the survey - we use it for students beginning at Purdue during any semester!)
Call the USP office (765-494-0843) to schedule your appointment for class registration. Registration can take place in person or over the phone.
Other Important Things:
If you've had two or more years of a foreign language in high school (but none in college) and plan to continue at Purdue you will need to take a foreign language placement test.
Prepare to take an Advanced Credit exam and earn Purdue credit before the start of next semester.
IMPORTANT!! Orientation for Transfer Students Who Are New To Purdue:
Orientation and New Student Programs (ONSP) sponsors a free event at the beginning of each semester for new transfer students. Click here to link to ONSP's web site.
