What do I need to do before I come to Day on Campus?
  • Register to attend Day on Campus by completing & mailing the DOC registration card that will be sent to you in mid-May.
  • Read carefully through the Day on Campus information you receive in the mail as well as this web site.
  • Activate your Purdue career (computer) account and set up your Purdue email address via the Internet. The Purdue Help Desk has directions. Then go to Purdue Web Mail and send us a message (our address is usp@purdue.edu).  You will also want to find out your PUID (Purdue Identifier) number, a ten-digit identification number that you'll use for lots of different things while at Purdue.
  • Take Purdue's online Math Placement Test. You will need to have your career (computer) account set up in order to do this (see above for more information). There is a study guide, set of practice problems, and a formula sheet provided by the Math Department that you can download (PDF files) to help you prepare to take the Math Placement Test. Please complete this at least 48 hours before your Day on Campus date.

Note: All incoming USP students must take a Math Placement Test before they register for fall semester classes.

  • Complete the Pre-Registration Information for Day on Campus Survey online. The information in this survey is intended for Purdue students in the Undergraduate Studies Program (USP). You will need your Math Placement Test result(s) to do this. Please complete this at least 48 hours before your Day on Campus date.
  • Consider being part of the Explorers (or other) Learning Community this fall. The Learning Communities web site has more information and an online registration form.

  • If you've had two or more years of a foreign language in high school and plan to continue at Purdue you will need to take a foreign language placement test. Day on Campus is a good time to take it.

  • Plan to spend the entire day (7:30am - 4:30pm) at Purdue to allow enough time for you to complete all of the necessary tasks.

Purdue Time -- Remember that West Lafayette, IN is on Eastern Time - the same time as New York and one hour ahead of Chicago.
