Located in Lambert building near Mackey Arena, the
Ismail Center provides health and fitness services
to Purdue faculty, staff, retirees, and the community.
The center provides an opportunity for encouragement,
motivation, and socializing where adults can achieve
their weight, health, and fitness goals. Upon joining,
members receive a complimentary health and fitness
assessment, which is used to develop an individualized
training program. Each new member then receives sessions
to learn how to use the equipment properly and effectively
and to familiarize themselves with their program. Some
additional benefits of membership include individual
audio receivers on each piece of cardiovascular equipment
for TV viewing, personal training, free towel and locker
service, and staff on hand to help.
The fitness room is equipped with a wide variety of cardiovascular
and strength-training equipment. Members are also welcome
to use the 200-meter indoor track located in the adjacent
Lambert Fieldhouse. The facility is in compliance with
standards published by the American College of Sports
Medicine. The staff is trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use.
Memberships are available by the semester or on an annual
basis. If you are interested in meeting your health and
fitness goals in a comfortable, non-threatening environment,
