Employment of Relatives
Employment opportunities at the University will not
be based upon or influenced by familial relationships.
The University will not normally permit any person to
be employed in a position that places the person under
the administrative supervision of another employee to
whom the person is related as father, mother, brother,
sister, uncle, aunt, husband, wife, son, daughter, niece,
nephew, grandparents, or by marriage. Exceptions to
this policy may be permitted, however, where there are
unique circumstances or when doing so will promote a
mission of the University. All exceptions must be requested
in writing by the employee's supervisor and submitted
to the immediate supervisor for review and recommendation,
through each higher supervisory level, to the University
president. For further details regarding employment
of relatives, refer to Executive Memorandum
No. C-37, "University Policy Concerning Nepotism,"
dated July 21, 1995.
