Black Cultural Center
For more than three decades, the Black
Cultural Center (BCC) has served Purdue and
the Lafayette-West Lafayette Community by providing
holistic, scholarly, and cocurricular programs designed
to strengthen the understanding of the African American
heritage.
The Black Cultural Center is located at Third and
Russell Streets in West Lafayette. It enhances the
academic, cultural, and social development of the entire
community.
Programs offered through the center include lectures
by prominent national figures and productions by professional
artists, as well as BCC performing arts ensembles that
provide a creative outlet for students and lively performances
for the public.
The focal point of the center is the library, which
contains materials relevant to the Black experience.
The library houses over 7,000 volumes, periodicals,
journals, and newspapers. Electronic resources are
also available.
The center and its programs are open to everyone.
Visitors are welcome, and tours are available for groups
and individuals. For information, visit www.purdue.edu/bcc or call 49-43092.
