Organizations

The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) also have branches at Purdue.

Many of the professional societies have Purdue chapters with membership open to faculty as well as students. Among them are the Institute of Aeronautical Sciences; American Society of Agricultural Engineers; American Institute of Chemical Engineers; American Society of Civil Engineers; Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; American Institute of Industrial Engineers; American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers; American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers; National Defense Transportation Association; Society of American Military Engineers; American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers; American Society of Mechanical Engineers; Society of Automotive Engineers; American Pharmaceutical Association; American Veterinary Medical Association; Sigma Delta Epsilon; and Sigma Xi.
