If you are a new staff member, you and your family
must meet age and residency requirements and be registered
by the deadline. There is no waiting period for new
residents. Simply put, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be 18 years old by the general election.
- Reside in your precinct 30 days by election day.
- Be registered to vote by the deadline, which is
29 days before an election.
- Have a photo ID before casting a ballot at the
polls on election day (go to www.in.gov/sos/photoid/index.html for details).
Mail-in forms must be postmarked or hand-delivered by the deadline. Late forms
will be held until registration reopens after an election.
Information is available on the Web at www.tippecanoe.in.gov 24 hours a day.
You may register to vote between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
weekdays at the Voter Registration Office on the first
floor of the Tippecanoe County Courthouse, 301 Main
Street, Lafayette, telephone 423-9316 or 423-9303.
Application Availability.
Mail-in forms are available from the West Lafayette
public library; Lafayette, West Lafayette, and Tippecanoe
School Corporation offices; Purdue University (Personnel
Services Office, Freehafer Hall; Bursar’s Office,
Hovde Hall; Residence Hall Administration Office,
Smalley Center; Purdue Village Administration in
the PVAB Building; and Visitor Information Center,
Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage); Ivy Tech State
College–Lafayette; Battle Ground, Clarks Hill,
Dayton, Otterbein, and Shadeland town halls; the
county extension office; and the township trustees’ offices.
Forms may be completed at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles;
Lafayette and West Lafayette city clerks' offices; and
the Voter Registration Office.
Voters will receive their voter registration cards
in the mail.
