Facilities and Services
Academic and Research Services: The Office for Continuing Education and Conferences

Purdue Continuing Education and Conferences helps Purdue academic units deliver high-quality educational programs beyond the traditional classroom — in conferences, nontraditional classes, and by distance learning. By so doing, it helps Purdue fulfill its engagement mission to organizations and learners throughout Indiana and beyond. Purdue continuing education programs meet ongoing learning needs for PK-12 teachers, the business/industry/
government workforce, professionals, senior learners, students, alumni, and friends of the University.

Purdue Continuing Education
Continuing Education coordinates the offering of Purdue credit and noncredit courses at sites throughout the state and in Lafayette/West Lafayette. It encourages faculty participation in distance learning and supports the ongoing administration of distance learning courses and degree/ certificate programs. It supports professional and workforce development through contract training. It operates Purdue’s evening class program that serves both on-campus students and community adult learners. Continuing Education supports community-based learning centers throughout the state, as well as the programs for senior learners such as those of the Wabash Area Lifelong Learning Association (WALLA) and Elderhostels. Continuing Education’s Student Learning Center provides logistical support to distant students taking Purdue courses and Purdue students taking courses from other institutions.

Purdue Conferences
Conferences provides administrative support for more than 600 conferences sponsored by Purdue academic and administrative units. In addition to academic programs, Conferences supports meetings of non-University organizations. Every year, Purdue conferences attract more than 60,000 visitors from throughout the world to the campus and to off-campus venues. Purdue is one of the nation’s largest and most active university conference centers.
