About 150 academic advisors and recruiters heard details about this summer’s STAR events during a May 8 presentation, a joint effort of Student Access, Transition and Success Programs (SATS) and the Office of the Registrar.
Previously known as Day on Campus, STAR (Summer Transition, Advising and Registration) is Purdue's orientation program for new, domestic, first-year and transfer students, and includes a number of activities to familiarize new students and their families with Purdue.
During the day, each student will be welcomed by his or her college, receive academic advice, receive a Purdue ID card, and register for their fall classes using the myPurdue portal. They also will have the option to tour a residence hall, take placement and advanced credit exams, and participate in numerous other activities.
The slides used during the May 8 presentation are available to view on the OnePurdue Web site.
STAR began June 16 and runs through July 10.
