Upgrade to Banner 8.x
The Banner 8.2 upgrade will be implemented on February 15, 2010. Since fall 2009, the Student Systems Competency Center staff has been preparing for this upgrade to the Banner Student System. This preparation included researching new functionality of Banner 8.2, configuring the system, and testing it. Additionally, Student Services staff devoted time to test the system prior to releasing the upgrade to all users.
To date, the preparations are on target for the upgrade implementation on February 15, 2010. End users will notice minor differences (e.g., a few new fields, reorganized tabs, etc.) in this version of Banner. As a result, training for this upgrade will not be necessary; however, users who need assistance after the upgrade implementation may look to the Gold Answers knowledge base or contact the ITaP Customer Service Center at 49-44000 or email@example.com.
After the implementation, the Student Systems Competency Center will be meeting with the process owners to determine new functionality needed to keep us on a path of continuous improvement. All requests for new functionality will be strategically discussed, reviewed, and implemented as deemed appropriate.
