Analyze and configure the OnePurdue Finance system to meet the business needs of Purdue's administrative operations. Troubleshoot system issues, thoroughly test fixes/enhancements, and communicate resolutions. Advise functional areas of any impact of system upgrades to defined processes. Assist with appropriate training materials and presentations of new system functionality and reporting capabilities. Work with others effectively to provide a stable technology solution and facilitate appropriate business process redesigns. When implementing new system functionality, ensure that the appropriate data is stored to meet university reporting and operational needs. This position works specifically with the following aspects of the Finance System: General Ledger, Controlling, Funds Management, Grants Management, Accounts Receivable, Budget Preparations, and Effort Certification.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of financial business experience, and/or IT technical support experience for financial related business processes.
- Successful completion of the Business Services Staff Development Program will be considered in lieu of one year of experience.
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
- Knowledge of financial processes, reporting/querying tools, and financial systems.
- Demonstrated abilities to analyze operations, foster change and effectively work in a team.
- Possess skill set to analyze data in a relational database.
- Knowledge of business modeling and requirements definition analysis.
- Ability to effectively communicate with large or small groups of people through written and verbal communication.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and group activities.
- Personal competencies in integrity, flexibility/adaptability, stress management, judgment/problem solving, and drive for results.
- Interpersonal competencies in customer focus, teamwork/collaboration, and coaching/mentoring system end users.
- Ability to multi-task several complex tasks at one time.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Management, or Computer related field.
- Experience working with financial postings from payroll operations.
- Knowledge of SAP software configuration and General Ledger postings.
- Familiarity of entire system design life cycle and project management.
- CPA, Business analyst, consulting, and/or SAP experience.
