One Purdue

Why Coeus?

Coeus is a Web-based, grants management application developed by MIT and managed by a consortium of universities of which Purdue is a member. Coeus has been used at Purdue for several years for preparing sponsored program budgets, recording human subject reviews and approvals, and tracking status of contract negotiations. These are things that the OnePurdue system does not support in its grants management module.

After the OnePurdue systems for finance were implemented, Coeus became the single source of grant proposal data for the University.

Coeus Interface

As part of the project, an interface was built between Coeus and OnePurdue. This interface provides for an exchange of proposal and award data between the two systems that simplifies sponsored program reporting and eliminates duplicate data entry on the part of Sponsored Program Services staff.

Future enhancements are planned for Coeus that will facilitate electronic routing and approval of sponsored program proposals and system-to-system submission of proposals to federal sponsors through the grants.gov system.

If you have questions regarding Coeus, please send them to Rob Dimmitt, pre-award assistant director at Sponsored Program Services, at rdimmitt@purdue.edu.
