Purdue Undergraduate Retention and Graduation Rates for Fall Cohorts:
This web reporting tool uses data pulled from DSS Student: View Metadata
Interpreting the results: The total number of students in your cohort group of interest (i.e. Female residents in Engineering at West Lafayette) will be highlighted in yellow. The first year retention rate will be the enrolled students/total of your cohort in the first column (the year following your cohort will be the first displayed). Six year graduation rates will be the total of the Bachelor, Associate and Professional degrees/total of your cohort in the sixth column (this is the internal method, not the IPEDS method, of calculation). Other rates (i.e. 4 and 5 year graduation rates) are calculated similarly. If you select the percent display, just add together the values to obtain the rate of interest.
Note: Forum and Board of Trustee (BOT) results for West Lafayette use the internal cohort. BOT retention rate results for the Regionals use the IPEDS cohort, and the IPEDS group for IPFW.
This tool cannot yet match IPEDS GRS 150% graduation rates (this includes BOT results for the Regionals), which are based on completing baccalaureate degrees in 6 years and terminal associate degrees in three years. Look for a fix to this, and graduate and professional rates, in the near future. |
