Who Qualifies as an Adult student?
The Span Plan Adult Student Services definition of an adult student includes any undergraduate student meeting one of the following three criteria:
- A student who experienced a minimum three year break between completing high school and attending higher education
- A student who experienced an interruption of two or more years while pursuing higher education
- A student who is married and/or a parent
Benefits of participation in Span Plan Adult Student Services: |
- A personal consultation, available by appointment, for questions, needs, or concerns
- Opportunity to share circumstances, receive advice & guidance on a plan of action
- Information & assistance on transitioning from Ivy Tech to Purdue University
- Recommendations & referrals to important campus and community resources
- Planning for the responsibilities of being an adult student
- Counselors with expertise regarding university policies, procedures and regulations
- Grant and scholarship opportunities strictly for nontraditional students
- Lunch 'N Learn Programs familiarizing students with campus resources
- Free individual tutoring
