Traveling with Your Student Organization
Student organizations traveling outside of Tippecanoe County must complete a Travel Planning Form (TPF). Information needed to complete the TPF includes a list of participants, officers and advisor signatures, names of drivers, phone number and address of destination, and estimated costs for the trip. At least two weeks of advance planning is suggested. Student drivers must also have an RM01 form on file and an MVR check done for Risk Management.
RM01 Approval Process for Student Organizations
Students from an organization that is recognized by the Office of the Dean of Students fill out the RM01 form provided by Risk Management. By completing this form, student drivers receive authorization to operate vehicles on University Business or for any other University Purpose.

Vehicles
- Private Vehicles. The owner’s insurance is the primary coverage, and each driver and owner should carry at least $100,000 in liability coverage.
- University Vehicles. These may be used for educational activities that pertain to the organization’s purpose. Go to Transportation (corner of Intramural Dr. and Harrison St.) to check on availability and pick up request forms.
- Other Transportation. If a rental company is being used, purchasing additional insurance is strongly encouraged.
