Carol E. Ben-Davies is an Assistant Dean of Student. She joined the Purdue family and the Student Activities and Organizations area of the Office of the Dean of Students in July of 2007.
As Assistant Dean of Students, she is responsible for leadership development initiatives which include the Student Leaders Retreat, the Emily Mauzy Vogel Sophomore Leadership Development Conference, the Leadership Journey comprising of the Emerging, Engaging and Impacting Leaders Program and a Senior Year Capstone Experience, the Diversified Leadership Workshop, Leadership Lecture Series, Women in Leadership and LeaderShape. Dean Ben-Davies also advises Purdue Student Government and Grand Alternative. She is the instructor for EDPS 301D Faskillitators.
Dean Ben-Davies is a native of New York but hails from the great Tar Heel state of North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago. She has nine years of professional and practicum experience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, and the University of Mary Washington in a variety of areas including multicultural affairs, fraternity and sorority life, judicial affairs and admissions. She is excited about providing opportunities that will not only transform the individual but will also transform the university.
