Disability Resource Center (DRC)
Distribution Process of the Instructor Accommodation Letters
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) would like to make all students currently eligible for classroom accommodations aware that starting Fall 2008, the DRC will be implementing a change in the instructor accommodation letter process, which we hope will improve the distribution process and will best serve your needs. As was the case in the past, the office will prepare instructor accommodation letters and will have your instructor letter packets available for pickup on the first day of each semester. The packets will include 10 copies of your instructor letter and the Testing Center Guidelines. We will now prepare the instructor packets each semester instead of preparing letters in the fall for the full academic year. If you need additional copies of the instructor letter, please notify the DRC.
Students have two (2) options for the delivery of instructor letters.

Student delivery of instructor letters followed by confirming letter from the DRC.

DRC delivery of instructor letters.
You may ask the DRC to send the instructor letters to designated instructors. Students will need to confirm the list of classes as well as the name of the class instructor(s) in order for the DRC to send the accommodation letters. If you request that the DRC send the instructor letter, it is critical that you also meet with each of your instructors to clarify the accommodations you are requesting in class. You and the instructor may need to discuss how your accommodations will be arranged.
All students should use the Instructor Accommodation Letter Request form to submit your semester instructor and class information.
The DRC will send instructor letters to designated instructors, by the end of the second week of classes each semester. Any requests for instructor accommodation letters to be sent after the first two weeks of the semester will be sent by the DRC within three (3) business days after the student has completed the Instructor Accommodation Letter Request form.
