Lafayette Urban Ministry

Volunteer to stay overnight in the homeless shelter, 8:30pm to 7:30 am to help staff with supervision and general duties. Volunteer groups can also assist by preparing a meal in the evening.
Lafayette Transitional Housing Center

Bag food for the community in the food pantry - Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hang clothes and sort donations in the clothing room. Help with painting, general clean-up, landscaping, and overall maintenance at Lincoln Center. Volunteers to help with office work are also needed.
MHA Day Shelter (Mental Health America)

Volunteer at the MHA day shelter for the homeless. Prepare a meal, check people in, and get to know some wonderful individuals in the process.
Trinity Mission

Many people find themselves living in a shelter temporarily. Help by preparing a hot meal for 12-15 people, something simple, such as hot dogs or spaghetti. Or tutor children and distribute needed supplies from 6 to10 pm during weekdays or anytime during weekends. There are also opportunities for staying overnight in the shelter from 10 pm to 7 am.

The Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program needs volunteers to answer crisis lines, help women move from the shelter, assist with child care, and do yard work for the shelter.
