5 students fuel the spirit of Purdue University
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University is recognizing five students who help boost school spirit.
Purdue Marketing and Media has developed a website at https://www.purdue.edu/fivestudents/index.html that includes information on the students who are passionate about their university.
The five "Spirit Makers" include:
* Elizabeth Hudson of Westfield, Ind., a junior studying professional writing and American studies. Hudson welcomes new Boilermakers to campus as a dean's ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts.
* Jim Mlynarski of Palos Heights, Ill., a second-year graduate student in aviation management. Mlynarski has been Purdue Pete since his sophomore year.
* Juan Crespo of South Bend, Ind., a junior studying atmospheric science. Crespo is a member of the Paint Crew, the men's basketball student section, and Block Party, the student section for women's volleyball.
* Elizabeth Gerrity of Lockport, Ill., a junior in economics. Gerrity is a cheerleader for the Purdue Spirit Squad.
* Paul Branham of Keller, Texas, a senior studying nuclear engineering. Branham is president of the Reamer Club, which is dedicated to preserving Purdue's traditions, and a driver for Purdue's mascot, the Boilermaker Special.
