GetInvolved! Assembly for student organizations set for Sept. 19

September 13, 2011

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The GetInvolved! Student Organization Assembly on Monday (Sept. 19) will serve as a resource for leaders of Purdue University's more than 930 student organizations to get useful information and help ensure their organization's success.

The event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union's South Ballroom, is for new presidents and executive members of student organizations. This year's assembly will focus on resources available to student organizations. Student organization leaders also will have an opportunity to meet with staff from the Office of the Dean of Students and other campus representatives to discuss organizational opportunities and resources.

Students must register at the GetInvolved! website to attend the assembly. Go to https://www.getinvolved.purdue.edu/form/start/4694 or log in and locate the notice to click on the link. All student organizations also must register at the site to avoid deactivation. Site users can post events on the virtual flyer board, submit news articles, create email lists, hold elections and submit information to the Student Activities and Organizations office. Future and current students can easily find an organization's profile and become a member or contact the organization.

Representatives from Purdue-licensed vendors also will be attending the assembly. This will allow student organization representatives to gather information about projects they may have this year and to see what different vendors offer.
