Gallup, Purdue partner on study to measure college outcomes

Gallup has partnered with Purdue to build and conduct the largest representative study of college graduates in U.S. history. The Gallup-Purdue Index will measure the most important outcomes of higher education – great careers and lives that matter – and provide higher education leaders with productive insights for meaningful performance improvements. Students raise more than $1 million for Riley Hospital

More than 2,000 Purdue students danced for 18 hours the weekend of November 9-10 to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital. The students, part of Purdue University Dance Marathon, set a record with a weekend total of $1,000,471.03 raised. Researchers show potential benefits of pinewood char as synthetic fuel source

Researchers at Purdue have successfully tested the conversion of large particles of pinewood char in a gasification process, a step necessary for the mass production of synthetic liquid fuel from the recalcitrant biomass. The results stemmed from a series of experiments using a new facility at Purdue's Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories aimed at learning precisely how biomass is broken down in reactors called gasifiers as part of a project to strengthen the scientific foundations of the synthetic fuel economy. Purdue will be able to augment and further develop its programs to help graduates pursue career opportunities in Indiana through a $5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
