The Consumer Electronics Association on Tuesday (Nov. 8) named the Acurus A2000 series of amplifiers an Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards honoree in its audio components category.
Indy Audio Labs LLC, based in the Purdue Research Park of Indianapolis, designs and manufactures the A2000 series. CEO Rick Santiago said the new Acurus web-controllable amplifiers will be showcased Jan. 10-13 at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
"The Consumer Electronics Association is considered the consumer electronics industry's authority on innovation, standards initiatives and market research," he said. "The International Consumer Electronics Show is one of the most significant annual events for consumer electronics manufacturers around the world and also one of the best-attended. Being named an honoree in the audio components category is gratifying and humbling for our team. This recognition speaks volumes about the direction we're heading in developing new Acurus products that combine both high-performance audio and proprietary, innovative web-control features."
The Acurus A2000 amplifiers output 200 watts per channel, are THX Ultra2 certified, and are available in two-channel, five-channel and seven-channel models. Each amplifier is made in Indiana, and features a milled, brushed and anodized aluminum front panel with laser-etched logos.
Santiago said Indy Audio Labs designers place the end user top-of-mind when developing consumer electronics products.
"Our goal at Indy Audio Labs is to deliver products that are dramatically simple to operate yet deliver high-quality audio and video that consumers, enthusiasts, and professionals alike can enjoy," he said. "The A2000 series amplifiers are the first examples of our vision embodied in products."
