Purdue Research Park-based firm names chairman of the board

August 29, 2011

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Officials at I-DENTI-FIED Inc., based in the Purdue Research Park of Northwest Indiana, have named Michael F. Kipp chairman of the board. Kipp previously served in leadership positions in the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors, including director of marketing for HCA and president of Signature Health Alliance and Premerus Diagnostic Agency.

I-DENTI-FIED is a patent-pending first mover in the deployment of a personalized RFID gateway to an individual's medical records. This gateway provides caregivers with complete, comprehensive, real-time personal health data regardless of medical history or clinical complexity and independent of changes in location, employment or health plan. CEO Steve Wise said the availability of such information is vital at point of service, especially in emergencies or where coordination of care is at issue. The technology was used during a mock natural disaster this summer by first responders from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security District 1.

Kipp explained why he chose to join I-DENTI-FIED.

"When I was in the diagnostic accuracy business, I always viewed diagnosis as the 'first domino': If we got it right, the patient was well served and the money well spent," he said. "I-DENTI-FIED represents an even earlier domino: If we know immediately who patients are and what treatment they've had before, they're going to be well served and the money's going to be well spent."

Wise said Kipp will strengthen the company in several ways.

"Mike brings to our company a tremendous amount of knowledge about health care, which often is published online on The Triple Aim," Wise said. "He also has the experience to develop and execute a strategy that will guide our efforts to make a major impact in the way health care is delivered."
