Private and public sector experts to offer fuel cell assembly courses

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Experts from NuVant Systems Inc., the Technology and Education Center for Renewable Energy, and the Illinois Institute of Technology will lead two sets of two-day courses to teach educators, professionals and private individuals how to assemble fuel cells and collect and analyze data.

The courses will run Aug. 16-17 and Aug. 18-19 at the Purdue Technology Center in the Purdue Research Park of Northwest Indiana, 9800 Connecticut Drive, Merrillville, Ind. The center is located in AmeriPlex at the Crossroads. NuVant Systems is a tenant of the center.

The two-day schedule will be repeated for both sets of classes. Media are invited to attend hands-on activities held at these times to interview attendees and workshop officials:
       
        * Day 1 of each set, 9 a.m.-9:45 a.m. - fuel cell assembly

        * Day 1, 9:45-10:15 a.m. - ink preparation

        * Day 1, 10:30-10:45 a.m. - CCM painting demo

        * Day 1, 10:45 a.m.-noon - CCM painting

        * Day 1, 12:45-2 p.m. - CCM painting

        * Day 1, 3:30-4:35 p.m. - CCM FC installation

        * Day 1, 4:35-5:05 p.m. - Software demo

        * Day 1, 5:05-6:35 p.m. - Hydrogen stripping

        * Day 2, 8-9:15 a.m. - Full cell polarization

        * Day 2, 10:30-11:45 a.m. - Anode polarization

        * Day 2, 12:30-2:45 p.m. - CO striping
