Next Generation Solutions launches regional online bill payment service

April 6, 2010

 MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Residents of a northwest Indiana town soon will be able to pay all their municipal bills with a click of a button thanks to an online bill presentment and payment service launched Tuesday (April 6).

Next Generation Solutions Ltd., based at the Purdue Research Park of Northwest Indiana, has launched E-Pay Northwest Indiana (E-Pay NWI). Mark C. Orciuch, president and senior software architect, said E-Pay NWI has a broader scope than other online bill payment services.

"Unlike online services that accept payments only for utilities, E-Pay NWI also will accept payments for municipal obligations that include fines, traffic tickets, permit fees and license fees," he said. "It delivers true bill presentment capabilities in addition to payment collection, allows municipalities to offer paperless utility billing to their residents, and satisfies the various rules and regulations of the payment card industry. E-Pay NWI remains industry compliant and offers the widest variety of payment options, including all major credit cards, PIN-less debit cards and e-checks."

The service was created with municipal leaders' needs in mind.

"E-Pay NWI was developed in close partnership with officials from Griffith, Ind.," Orciuch said. "They needed a solution that could be integrated with their internal billing system but not create additional work for their staff. They are the first subscribers to the utility payment feature of the service."

The Web site services feature:
        * Online bill viewing with a paperless bill option
        * Access to online payment history
        * E-mail billing reminders
        * E-mail payment confirmation and receipt
        * E-mail payment notification
        * Virtual terminal access

E-Pay NWI is available on a subscription basis to other agencies, organizations and companies wishing to offer secure online bill presentment or payment. It can be customized to accept billing feeds from a variety of software.
