Division of Financial Aid reminds students to file their 2018-19 FAFSA

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – To receive priority consideration for federal, state and university-based financial aid, all current and prospective students planning to attend Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus in the fall of 2018, should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://fafsa.gov/ no later than Purdue’s March 1 priority filing date.

The 2018-19 FAFSA will use 2016 tax year data.  This will allow most students and families to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT) available within the application to transfer their tax data directly into the FAFSA.  New student filers and one parent should first visit https://fsaid.ed.gov so each can create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID, and then https://fafsa.gov/ to begin the 2018-19 FAFSA filing process.

It is important to remember that families must not update the FAFSA with their 2017 information once their taxes are complete.

The Division of Financial Aid provides financial aid information to students and families through community outreach, via email, and online at www.purdue.edu/dfa/.   The Division of Financial Aid can be reached by calling 765-494-5050 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time, or by emailing facontact@purdue.edu
