Purdue Student Union Board to pay tribute to veterans

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University will honor veterans Friday (Nov. 10) at a Veterans Day ceremony in the Purdue Memorial Union Great Hall.

The Purdue Student Union Board will host the tribute at 11 a.m. It will include “Presentation of the Colors” by Purdue University Tri-service Color Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance, national anthem and patriotic songs by the Purduettes and Purdue Musical Organizations. A table of remembrance and moment of silence, and three memorial volleys will take place at the tribute, which is free and open to the public.

Scheduled speakers are:

* James Paulsen, retired U.S. Navy captain.

* Ryan Brown, U.S. Navy, Petty Officer First Class, Purdue student.

Following the tribute, refreshments will be available in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 118, with a variety of displays and a table for individuals to write letters to veterans.

The event is co-sponsored by Purdue Student Union Board, Student Veterans Organization and Veterans Success Center.
