Purdue Food Science offers first Validation Workshop
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Agriculture’s Department of Food Science will offer the first four-day workshop designed for commercial food processors involved in validation processes, aseptic shelf-stable products or installing new commercial lines for future production needs.
The workshop is scheduled for Sept. 11-14 and will be held at the Four Points by Sheraton in West Lafayette. Transportation will be provided to the pilot plant facility located in Philip E. Nelson Hall of Food Science for demonstrations.
“Validation of processes plays a key role in manufacturing safe food products. The workshop is designed to help the food industry validate a new or existing installation,” said Dharmendra Mishra, assistant professor, Department of Food Science.
Hands-on exercises will be helpful for process authorities, food and packaging engineers, microbiologists and any other employees involved with this type of process at their facilities.
The registration fee is $1,950 per participant, which includes course materials, three breakfasts, daily beverage breaks during workshop hours, two lunches and two dinners. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. The registration deadline is Sept. 3, 2017.
Lodging is not included. However, when making hotel reservations mention the conference name for potential special rates and considerations.
