Global Fest plans expanded lineup; event free and open to public

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. —  Global Fest 2017 will rock the streets on Sept. 16 with extended hours and an impressive lineup of international and local performers. Everyone is invited to this family-friendly cultural event featuring international foods, cultural booths, merchant tables and more. Admission is free and open to the public.

This annual event, co-hosted by the International Center of West Lafayette and the City of West Lafayette, with support from Purdue Convocations and Friends of Bob Live Music Co-Op, will return to Chauncey and Columbia Streets between the Morton Community Center and the West Lafayette Public Library from noon to 10 p.m.

More than 20 vendors have signed on to present food and cultural items for sale, including crafts from the Sahara, Indian food by Sharma’s Kitchen, L-Kora Fast Food Truck from Mexico, wood-fired pizza from Styx N Stones, demos by Lafayette Lacemakers, African food, paper art, calligraphy, gourmet popcorn, henna art, baked goods from Scones & Doilies, origami demonstrations, Morton Potters and much more.

In addition, the entertainment planned for the Center Stage promises visitors a glimpse of the diverse culture that we enjoy in West Lafayette and the surrounding area.
