Electric rock will be taken to a new level in ArcAttack's performance at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. — ArcAttack's "Energy and Electricity" will perform at 3 p.m. on Nov. 13 in Purdue University's Loeb Playhouse. This performance is presented by Purdue Convocations with support from the Indiana Space Grant Consortium, Duke Energy and M.P. Baker Electric.

Ticket holders are invited to join Purdue's Women in Engineering Program for a preshow demonstration on electricity at 2 p.m. in Stewart Center's West Lobby.

ArcAttack blends rock-concert energy and science, which the band loves as much as music. Through an interactive stage show, the band makes music while exploring concepts of electricity, voltage and current, magnetism, robotics and what happens when lightning strikes.

There is a variety of scientifically influenced musical instruments onstage, including ArcAttack's signature Singing Tesla Coils. These custom-engineered, hand-built machines throw electrical arcs up to 12 feet long and pulse with a sound reminiscent of early synthesizers. The ArcAttack will, literally, walk through lightning, and then audience members can take the stage to join them in a Faraday cage dance-off.

Tickets are $15-$10 depending on seating area in the venue. Tickets are available at the Stewart Center box office at 765-494-3933 or 800-914-SHOW. Group tickets are also available to groups of 10 more. Call 765-496-1977 for more details or visit https://purdue.edu/convocations/group-sales/
