Purdue police investigate armed robbery

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University police are investigating an armed robbery that was reported around 4 a.m. Monday (Sept. 26) outside Hawkins Hall, 430 W. Wood St.

According to police, four Purdue students reported they were seated on a bench when three men wearing bandanas and hooded sweatshirts approached them. The students told police at least two handguns were displayed, and they were ordered to stand against the wall of the building.

The victims, none of whom were injured in the robbery, told police their wallets, phones and backpacks were taken.

After the incident, the suspects left the area on foot toward the Purdue Memorial Union.
