Purdue job fair to recruit custodial, grounds, skilled trades and maintenance positions

WEST LAFYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University will be hosting a job fair on Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in order to recruit individuals to fill custodial, grounds, skilled trades and maintenance positions.

"We have over 20 positions to fill," said Kurt Stull, operations and maintenance director, "People can stop by at any time during the fair to learn more, apply for the positions and even meet some of the hiring managers."

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of short, optional workshops during the job fair:

* 11-11:15 a.m.: Benefits of working at Purdue

* 11:20-11:35 a.m.: Writing your resume

* 11:40-11:55 a.m.: How to apply

* 12-12:15 p.m.: Preparing for the interview

All of the open positions offer competitive wages. Custodial wages begin at $10 an hour. Based on experience and skill level, maintenance and skilled trades positions can earn a starting wage of up to $18.89 per hour, and grounds positions can earn up to $16.02 per hour.

The fair will be held at the Physical Facilities Service Building, 775 Ahlers Drive. Attendees should follow posted signs for parking and building entry information.
