Winter weather forces postponement of White House event

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A blizzard expected to hit Washington, D.C., has forced postponement of Friday’s (Jan. 22) planned White House ceremony to honor Purdue University’s Nancy Ho and other recent winners of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

An alternate date has not yet been determined.

Ho, founder and president of Green Tech America Inc. and a research professor emerita in Purdue’s School of Chemical Engineering, was among 17 scientists, engineers, mathematicians and innovators to have been honored by President Barack Obama during an afternoon ceremony on Friday. Ho’s selection as a recipient was announced in December.
