Literary Reading Series features poet G Yamazawa March 24

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Poet G Yamazawa will give a reading at 7 p.m. Thursday (March 24) in Stewart Center's Fowler Hall at Purdue University.

In addition to the reading, he also will conduct a public poetry workshop at 2 p.m. Thursday in Stewart Hall, Rom 313.

The events are free and open to the public. The Purdue Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center, the Department of English and the Creative Writing Program are sponsors.

George Masao Yamazawa, Jr. is widely considered one of the top young spoken word artists in the country. He is a National Poetry Slam Champion, Individual World Poetry Slam Finalist and has toured in over 50 American cities and five European countries. His poetry has been published in Beltway Quarterly, Asian Fortune Magazine, and 27 Views of Durham, and has shared stages with Sonia Sanchez, Michelle Kwan, Danny Glover and Vice President Joe Biden.
