Dec. 10 is sign-up deadline for Host-A-Boiler during winter break

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue's Host-A-Boiler program still has openings for hosts to participate during the Dec. 19 to Jan. 11 winter break when some students are not able to travel home.

Purdue faculty and staff, community residents, and local Purdue students who are interested in hosting during the winter break should go to www.ippu.purdue.edu/HostABoiler/ to learn more about the program and sign up to be a host. The enrollment deadline for winter break is Dec. 10.

"Winter break is three weeks long, and we're looking for community members who could share one meal with a student or schedule an activity of mutual interest any time during the break," said Michael Brzezinski, dean of International Programs. "This also is a great opportunity for international students to learn more about our culture and spend more time in our community."

The new program was announced in October. During Thanksgiving break, 107 Purdue students who were not able to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday spent time with local families.
