• Appointments and promotions:
- Harry Denny, an associate professor of English, is the director of the Purdue Writing Lab. Previously, Denny was an associate professor at St. John's University and he received his doctorate in rhetoric and communication from Temple University. Denny's areas of expertise include writing center administration and research in empirical studies about writing centers, social justice and cultural studies and composition studies. The Writing Lab, which also includes the Online Writing Lab known as OWL, is a resource that provides tips on grammar, mechanics and punctuation. In the last year the online resource had more than 345 million visits and celebrated its 20th anniversary.
• Rankings:
- Purdue is ranked 113th in the Times Higher Education 2015-16 World University Rankings. Purdue tied with the University of Montreal in Canada and Pierre and Marie Curie University in France.
