Purdue University Surplus Store relocating to campus site

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University Surplus Store will be moving in October to better serve faculty, staff and students with a convenient campus location at Materials Management and Distribution Center (MMDC). To prepare for the move, the store is holding a sale at the current location at 3601 Sagamore Parkway North, Suite K, in Lafayette.

Purdue University Surplus Store will suspend operations at its Sagamore Parkway location at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 and open at MMDC at noon Oct. 5. The move to MMDC, at 700 Ahlers Drive, will provide campus customers with easier access to the store while also offering community members two points of entry from South Russell Street and Ahlers Drive, said Mark Schock, manager of materials management and distribution.

"It's been our goal for a while to make access to the store more convenient for everyone," Schock said. "Now we can do so with our new location while at the same time taking advantage of a better operational space within the Materials Management and Distribution Center."

Purdue University Surplus Store sells items Purdue departments declare as surplus, including office furniture, computer equipment, fitness equipment and appliances. Items are sold on a first-come basis, and all merchandise is sold as is without warranty. Refunds are not allowed.

The store's moving sale will have graduated discounts on all items:

* Through Friday (Sept. 4) - 50 percent off.

* Sept. 8-11 - 75 percent off.

* Sept. 14-18 - All remaining merchandise will be sold for $1.

Discover, MasterCard, Visa, check and cash will be accepted for payment. Items must be removed on the day of purchase, and buyers are responsible for loading their own purchases. There are limited quantities of all items.

The store is open to the public noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
