• Appointments and promotions:
- U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has reappointed Willie Reed, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, to his Advisory Committee on Animal Health, effective last month. Reed will serve a two-year term as a representative of poultry producers and groups. Vilsack said it is vital to obtain public and industry perspectives on USDA strategies, policies and programs to prevent, control and/or eradicate animal health diseases. He also said the committee will lead broader dialogue on public health concerns and the stability of the livestock economies.
