Purdue Alumni Association to host Senior Send Off
April 13, 2015
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University students graduating in May or August 2015 will have the opportunity to enjoy a free Subway lunch, receive a graduation gift and information about their Purdue Alumni gateway membership, and collect useful information for life after graduation.
Purdue Alumni’s Senior Send Off will be held in the Purdue Armory Wednesday (April 15) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Graduates can also get their picture taken with the Boilermaker Special, the “World's Largest Drum,” and Purdue Pete — all in the same picture!
Jimmy Cox, director of student programs with the Purdue Alumni Association, said the event is a fun way for the alumni association to congratulate future alumni.
“Senior Send Off gives students the opportunity to get lots of information about how they can stay connected to Purdue after they leave campus,” he said.
Eligible students received an e-mail from the registrar in early April and a reminder with pre-registration details from the Purdue Alumni Association. Student IDs are required for entry to Senior Send Off upon verification.
Most school and college alumni representatives, along with some local commencement-related businesses, will be present to congratulate seniors on their upcoming graduation and provide additional resources.
The event also is organized by the Purdue Alumni Student Experience (PASE), the student membership program that involves students in alumni association activities to create a lifelong loyalty to the organization and the university. PASE is the largest student group on campus.
