• Appointments and promotions:
- Geanie Umberger has been appointed associate dean for engagement in the College of Technology and clinical professor in the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation. Umberger will enhance the college's relationships with corporate, academic and government partners. She will work with faculty to integrate engagement activities in their scholarship portfolios. - Marcus Rogers has been appointed head of the Department of Computer and Information Technology. Rogers, whose appointment was effective May 1, has been serving as interim department head since July 2014. He is also director of Purdue's Cyber Forensics and Security Program, a University Faculty Scholar, advisory committee chair of the Digital Forensics Certification Board, and a deputized investigator for the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department. • Notables:
- The France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center has received a 2015 Facility Design Award of Excellence from the Association of College Unions International. The awards were created to encourage and recognize excellence in the design of student-centered facilities that support campus community building and student learning. The Association of College Unions International supports its members in the development of community through education, advocacy and the delivery of services.
