Notables:

- Physical Facilities was presented with two awards at the recent Earth Day celebration: a Tree Campus USA designation and the Indiana Wildlife Federation Conservation Education Award. This is the sixth year that Purdue has received the Tree Campus USA designation, which is given to campuses that meet the following five standards outlined by the Arbor Day Foundation: maintaining a tree advisory committee, utilizing a campus tree-care plan, dedicating annual expenditures toward trees, holding an Arbor Day observance and organizing student service-learning projects. The IWF Conservation Education Award recognizes Purdue's effort to educate Indiana youth and the public on the state's natural resources. The Office of University Sustainability, the Grounds Department, and the Purdue Arboretum were recognized for developing Purdue's certification in the IWF Landscaping the Sustainable Campus Program and for integrating the campus' sustainable features into educational opportunities as a living lab.
