WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Leaders of nonprofit organizations that oversee programs in the arts and culture, community and economic development, social services and more will be able to search more than 1,850 funding sources to pay for operating costs in a newly published directory.
Schoolhouse Partners LLC has published the ninth edition of Operating Grants for Nonprofit Organizations. It can be purchased directly from Schoolhouse Partners, Amazon, Baker & Taylor, EBSCO Information Services, Ingram Books or YBP Library Services. The information also is available on GrantSelect, Schoolhouse Partners' subscription-based online database.
Editorial director Louis S. Schafer said Operating Grants for Nonprofit Organizations was created to be a comprehensive resource tool.
"We intended for the directory to assist in locating funding from charitable organizations of all varieties," he said. "It offers a valuable and systematic way of locating sources for hard-to-find grants covering the day-to-day expenses of running a nonprofit including staff salaries, rent and utilities."
Each record is listed in three indices: by subject, by program type and by geographic focus. Each record includes the grant title; amount of funding; description; application requirements; application deadline; contact information, including Internet address, email, phone number, fax, sponsor name and physical address; and samples of awarded grants, when available.
The directory also includes an article written by Schafer, "How to Write a Winning Grant," which outlines key steps to prepare a grant proposal.
