WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Extension of Allen County will host a Wholesale Success workshop Feb. 12.

The workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Extension office, 4001 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne. Sessions will cover postharvest handling and on-farm food safety procedures for producers who market directly to consumers. The event will provide ample networking opportunities.

Participants will receive a free copy of the Wholesale Success manual, a guide to the most recent and best practices concerning food safety, postharvest handling, packing, business management and marketing. The manual also includes management profiles for 100 specific crops.

The workshop is organized by FamilyFarmed.org, a nonprofit organization promoting locally grown food.

There is no fee to attend the workshop, but participants must RSVP to Jain Young at 425-213-7516 or jainofthegreenwood@gmail.com
